News » Storms cause outages in NE Wis.

June 18, 2012
Up to 17,000 customers lost power early this morning, because of some strong storms, and utility crews are working to restore the final outages.

We Energies spokesman Brian Manthey says at the peak, about 12,000 were in the dark, mostly because of lightning. Wisconsin Public Service spokeswoman Lisa Prunty says between 4,000 and 5,000 of their customers lost power.

Both say there are only small, scattered outages right now.
