News » State finds EAB-infested tree in G.B.
June 19, 2012 Nearly three years ago, the state ag department found an emerald ash borer in one of its traps in downtown Green Bay.
Now officials say a tree in that area is infested by the pest.
Spokesman Mick Skwarok says the EAB can fly under the radar for a few years, and then spread very quickly. He says that's not always the case, and they need to keep an eye out for it.
Skwarok says the wood quarantine was put in place when the first beetle was found in 2009, and that could have limited the pest's spread. |
