News » Town of Menasha police warn about burglaries
Mar. 17, 2010 Whether they happened during the day or at night, town of Menasha police say they saw a big jump in the number of burglaries to homes and businesses.
Nearly 50 people got together at the town hall last night to talk with police about what they can do to avoid becoming a target.
Officer Jason Weber says they don't need to buy an expensive lock, they just need to use the one they have. He says keeping valuables out of their cars would also have a big impact.
Weber says garages are typically most vulnerable to thieves, because sometimes people leave the door open. He says the side door should have a dead bolt on it, so it's more difficult to break in.
Weber says neighbors should also watch out for each other.
Last night's "State of the Crime" meeting was a first for the town of Menasha. |
