News » More Neenah students to use iPads in class
June 14, 2012 Some Neenah teachers are learning about iPads this week, now that the district is going to have one in the classroom for every fifth, sixth, and seventh-grade student.
Diane Doersch (DURSH) is the director of instructional technology, and she says they've already tried them, on a limited basis in some classrooms this past year. She says things went so well, they decided to expand.
Doersch says they saw a marked improvement in math skills, thanks to a website that students used. She says a fifth-grade social studies class used them to produce videos about the founding of Jamestown. She says they also saw a marked increase in math skills, thanks to a website students used.
Doersch says the students will leave the iPads in the classroom at the end of each day. She says the district is paying for them by reallocating some money from the budget for textbooks to technology. |
