News » Gossett takes concealed carry issue to S.C.
June 18, 2012 The leading prosecutor in Winnebago County wants to carry a gun in the county courthouse, and he's taking the issue to the state Supreme Court.
While District Attorney Christian Gossett has a concealed carry permit, county judges say he can't bring it into court without permission from the presiding judge or court commissioner.
Gossett argues they're overstepping the state's concealed carry law that allows DA's and their assistants to carry guns.
Assistant District Attorney Scott Ceman joined Gossett in filing the petition with the high court. |
