News » Kaukauna marks Flag Day
June 15, 2012 Kaukauna held a ceremony yesterday afternoon to honor the American flag.
Yesterday was Flag Day, and Jerry Brien of the Kaukauna Elks says it's important to reflect on what the flag stands for.
The origins of Flag Day are in the eastern Wisconsin village of Fredonia. It's believed that in 1885, a school teacher was the first to celebrate Flag Day on June 14.
