News » Prof: Bipartisanship up to lawmakers
June 12, 2012 It will be up to individual lawmakers to decide if they want to work with their colleagues on the other side of the political aisle.
That's the feeling of Lawrence University political science professor Arnold Shober, as Democrats and Republicans are set to gather for Governor Walker's "brat summit" this afternoon.
Republican Sen. Mike Ellis says it's going to be up to seasoned lawmakers on both sides to step forward in the Senate. He says Democrats Bob Jauch and Tim Cullen, and Republicans Rob Cowles and Luther Olsen would have to say they've had enough, and it's time to work together.
Ellis says either that happens, or "the under-40 hotheads that are starting to permeate the Capitol" will run the place. |
