Judges in Winnebago County say their ban on guns in the courtroom ensures a safe environment for everyone.
The statement comes on the heels of Winnebago County DA Christian Gossett petitioning the state Supreme Court to let him carry his gun in the courthouse.
He says the concealed carry law that passed last year allows DA's and their assistant prosecutors to carry, if they have a permit.
The judges say they unanimously agreed on the ban. |
