News » Home sales, prices up from last May
June 18, 2012 The housing market appears to be bouncing back in the state.
Wisconsin Realtors Association president Mike Theo says sales numbers from last month, and May of last year, were up nearly 19 percent, and prices rose about 1.5 percent.
Theo says in the northeast region, home sales were up more than 21 percent. Calumet County saw a nearly 30 percent increase, while Outagamie only climbed 2.4 percent. Median prices were down, though, by just over 4 percent.
Overall, Theo says prices are stabilizing. He says people are more willing to buy now because the job market is improving in Wisconsin. |
