A big bust in Brown County, for fraud in the state's food stamp program, could give two lawmakers some momentum.
Republican Reps. Andre Jacque of Bellevue and Chad Weininger of Green Bay want to provide incentives to whistleblowers, and sheriff's departments that dedicate investigators to the issue.
Weininger says they need to crack down.
Beach Road Liquor in Green Bay is accused of selling Food Share participants alcohol and tobacco, or giving them cash. The store would then charge twice the total to their Qwest debit card. |
