Welcome everyone to my “Thirsty Thursday” blog. I figured it was time I started blogging about something I truly know about…enjoying adult beverages. Each week I will feature establishments around Northeast Wisconsin in various categories and seeing that we are almost towards the end of July (sad, I know), I will feature my favorite outdoor patio places.
Game Day Sports Bar (Appleton) – In terms of outdoor patios, this damn near checks off all the marks. The only thing it’s missing is being along the water. They have a HUGE outdoor seating area that is equipped with an outdoor stage. The outdoor bar is one of my favorites I have come across with TV’s, a jukebox and a setting that’s inside an old garage like structure. And it has size. There’s a giant swing, bags and plenty of tables for eating. To top it off there’s fire pits, a little waterfall and even lights on the trees to set the mood.
Hagemeister Park (Green Bay) – This place DOES have the water advantage as it’s along the Fox River in downtown Green Bay. Fire pits, TV’s, live music, seating for meals, bags, a bar outside and the ability to pull your boat up to the dock make this for one hell of a good time in the summer. If you want to catch a spot, make sure you show up to any event early as this is a hot spot and they will be hard to come by. Right down the City Deck is also a splash pad for the kiddos.
Fox River Brewing Company (Oshkosh) – The final place I wanna mention on my list is also along the Fox River in Oshkosh. The Fox River Brewing Company also features a VERY large outdoor patio with plenty of seating for lunch or dinner, a nice sized bar and a grassy area that is equipped with ladder golf, bags and plenty of room to toss the ol’ pigskin or baseball around. Not only that, but you can pull your boat up to the docks along the outside, catch a drink/meal and then go on your way. Live music is another addition to make this a great date, ladies, guys night. Any kind of night, really.
So there you have it, week one of “Thirsty Thursday” is in the books. If you have any suggestions, feel free to hit me up on Instagram, Snap Chat or Twitter @whatthechuck99
