Northeast Wisconsin, Chuck Nation, my Mother Chuckers, welcome back to Pubs, Clubs & Grub. So far we’ve covered tacos and pub pizza. This week I am going to cover wraps. I love a good wrap. If made correctly, you can stuff them full of whatever you want and not make a huge mess. However, if not wrapped correctly, they can take a bit more effort to eat.
This week is gonna be a bit different as I’m going to give you a vegetarian version (weird, I know) and one with a protein in it.
The first wrap I would like to point out is a must get for me any time I stay in Green Bay. I usually roll out of bed on Monday from a good Sunday Chuckday and make my way to Gallagher’s in De Pere for lunch because they have my absolute favorite wrap I’ve ever had simply known as the Veggie Wrap. Stuffed with broccoli, cauliflower, green pepper, carrot, lettuce, thousand island dressing (I substitute for ranch) and cheddar and mozzarella cheese ( and I mean stuffed with those cheeses). It is heated just enough to melt the cheese and when it comes out and it full and the cheese is stringy. A delicious combination. Technically it isn’t a wrap as it comes in sandwich form but you can substitute it as a wrap if you don’t want as much fluff. Order it as a basket and enjoy fries and a pickle with it. You’re welcome.
The second and protein wrap I’m going to mention comes from a chain restaurant I visited during my tenure in Indiana and one that recently moved into the Fox Valley…Cheddar’s. The first time I went there I got the Buffalo Chicken Wrapper. Chicken tenders (I get fried), cheddar cheese, shredded cabbage, pickles, homemade ranch dressing in a flour tortilla (I add bacon because everything is better with bacon). Not only is there a ton of stuff in the wrap, but I swear it comes with enough chicken strips to make a full basket out of. I could barely finish the thing and that’s saying a lot because I’m a meatball of a kid at heart. In fact, as I’m writing this, I might have to go get one sometime this week.
There is this week’s blog about wraps. If there is a wrap out there you think I should try, hit me up on Instagram, Snap Chat & Twitter @whatthechuck99
