I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and rang in the new year in the most kick ass way possible. We’re gonna kick off the first Thursday of the year by getting right back into me blogging about all my favorite spots in Northeast Wisconsin.
I’ve typically talked about places in either Green Bay, Appleton or any of those surrounding cities. Well, this week I’m going a little further and taking this blog all the way to good ol’ Algoma.
On a beautiful, fall day in September, I decided it was time to take a good day drinking adventure to places I’ve never been before that were on a path I normally don’t take. This was courtesy of the Kewaunee County Tavern League and their Fun Run.
One of the stops was Smashed On The Rocks. Located right on the marina of the shore of Lake Michigan, this place is full of great environment. They have a large outdoor patio, decorations that transform you to somewhere warm and a very cool bar setup. They have a certain menu item that I love and tend to get everywhere I stop, a loaded Bloody Mary. Not only do I enjoy it, but they have been written about by many others have been in an article about one of the top spots to stop for one.
Their menu is your typical bar food and they are not afraid to admit that. They are a part of a community that advertises other local businesses for food if you are not in the mood for that type of cuisine. They are also seasonal so the establishment isn’t open yet, but they typically open around late April/early May. I do intend on checking this place out when the sun is out longer and I can truly enjoy the patio with some warmer weather.
If there’s a place you think I should check out, you can always message me on Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat @whatthechuck99. Also, let me know about any of the places you’ve seen me pick!
