Advocates hoping to increase graduation rates at Brown County schools have a new initiative.
The Beta Test is an extension of a program that launched six months ago.
Spencer Bonnie of Achieve Brown County says they’re adding the Ashwaubenon school district to their list, and looking for more volunteer mentors.
He says they saw encouraging results through the first six months of the Alpha program. He says about 50 students participated, and their grades and attendance improved.
He hopes to have mentors for 200 students for the next school year.
Bonnie believes they’re the only community in the country to start this type of program.
