Mile of Music organizers are making their final preparations before the start of the four-day festival tomorrow.
Things unofficially get going tonight, with a couple of events in downtown Appleton. “Me Like Bees” is playing for the “Concerts in the Courtyard” series at the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley. The “First Songs” show, for Music Makers pass holders and sponsors, is at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
Co-founder Dave Willems says they’ll have about 220 artists and bands, playing around 950 sets, throughout the festival. That’s similar to last year’s numbers, but he says they’re hosting more bands this time. He says it just worked out that way, and in future years they could have more soloists, duets, and trios.
The seventh Mile of Music festival runs through Sunday.
