A report shows the paper industry has an $11 billion economic impact in northeast Wisconsin.
New North Executive Director Barb LaMue says about 110 companies are involved with papermaking, and about 17,000 people work for them. Those employees make a total of about $1.5 billion dollars a year.
LaMue says the industry is evolving to survive the changes in market conditions.
A UW-Stevens Point professor studied the impact for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
