Neenah’s soccer field is getting a new name.
The field at Rocket Memorial Stadium will soon be known as Harry Kelderman Field.
Kelderman coached the boys soccer team for 35 seasons and won more than 600 games.
That’s more than any other coach in Wisconsin history.
The school board voted unanimously to name the field after him.
Former activities director Nate Werner says Kelderman was known for helping kids on and off the field.
Kelderman coached his son Kris, who is now the men’s soccer coach at UW-Milwaukee.
He says winning back to back state championships, with his son on the team, tops his coaching accomplishments.
An official dedication will be held September 26.
