An artist from the Mile of Music festival had skin cancer surgery last week after a doctor found something during a free screening.
Rob Stroup of Moody Little Sister signed up for the screening with Forefront Dermatology because he was concerned about a freckle on his arm that got bigger and darker over the past year. He sent a thank you message to Mile organizers after learning it was melanoma. He says the service most likely saved his life.
Stroup is on tour and he doesn’t think he would’ve been able to get it checked out until October.
The festival has an Artist Care program that also offers hearing screenings and massages.
