The Appleton school district could get involved with the debate over Native American mascots.
The school board might vote on a proposal on Monday night to call on state lawmakers to take action.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer Pa Lee Moua says the district works to make sure every school is welcoming for all students.
The board’s business services committee talked about the idea yesterday. There are 31 districts in the state that have Native American mascots.
