Embattled Winnebago County coroner Barry Busby will step down this fall.
He announced his decision during the public comment session at last night’s county board meeting.
Busby’s announcement came before the board approved a measure to censure him and to express no confidence in him following allegations of sexual harassment and absenteeism.
Busby continues to blame his actions on post-traumatic stress disorder related to his job.
