Appleton hopes to have four new pedestrian crossings up-and-running in a couple of weeks.
Two are along East College Avenue and the others are along Richmond Street and at Meade Street and Evergreen Drive.
Traffic Engineer Eric Lom says there’s a reason they picked those spots. He says they want to look at the streets that handle the most traffic and make sure there aren’t extended areas where people don’t have a safe space to cross.
Lom says they’re planning to put in another eight to 10 crossing lights in the next several years.
