An Oshkosh man says the city wrongly charged him for more than half-million gallons of water over four days.
Alexander Phillips says he got a bill for almost $800 and he reached out to officials about the mistake. He says they initially told him it was correct. Phillips says his bill is usually about $40 a month.
Oshkosh Public Works Director James Rabe says someone did get something wrong on the bill. He says it should be for about 56,000 gallons instead of 500,000. Rabe thinks an undetected leak could be to blame. He says the city will always work with people to get to the bottom of issues like this.
