Two former UW-Oshkosh administrators accused of signing illegal deals are arguing their rights were violated.
Former Chancellor Richard Wells and former Vice Chancellor Thomas Sonnleitner are making the arguments in a motion to dismiss the charges against them. Their attorneys claim that prosecutors are misapplying a law that lead to the charges.
Prosecutors say Wells and Sonnleitner signed letters on behalf of the UW-Oshkosh Foundation to get loans. They say the two then made secret payments to the Foundation to pay off those debts.
A Winnebago County judge could rule on their motion in January.
