A local non-profit is joining an international disaster relief organization based in Puerto Rico to provide diapers and hygiene products to people in the Bahamas.
Stephanie Bowers is the co-founder and CEO of Jakes diapers in Little Chute. She says they’re giving out diapers and hygiene products to the more than 70,000 people who are now homeless.
Bowers says they’re also trying to raise $25,000. She says they can buy diapers in bulk so they can stretch those fund a long way.
Bowers believes cloth diapers are the best option. She says since it’s an island…there isn’t a lot of room to throw away disposable ones.
