A Republican congressman from northeast Wisconsin is criticizing President Trump’s plans to leave Syria.
Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay tweeted that the U.S. needs to work through local allies to succeed in the Middle East. He says the Kurds have proven themselves in the fight against Islamic State.
Gallagher says abandoning them to the increasingly unstable Turkish president undermines America’s credibility, and national security interests.
