Crews are wrapping up work on the roof of the historic Carriage House at the Oshkosh Public Museum.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says they wanted to make sure it matches the original look of the building. He says it used to have a slate-tile roof, and it would’ve been very expensive to use those tiles again. He says they found a substitute material that will work well.
Rohloff says they had to make a lot of patches to the roof, and it was leaking. He says they also found some rotting with the original roof.
The Oshkosh Public Museum uses the Carriage House to store many of the artifacts that aren’t on permanent display.
