Governor Evers is vetoing a bipartisan bill that set rules for naming highways and bridges after people.
He says it would’ve limited the ability to commemorate those who have made significant contributions or sacrifices. Evers says the wording would’ve kept the state from honoring victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos authored the proposal, and he says he wanted to preserve the integrity of the naming process.
