A former leader of the Oneida Nation died this week.
Rick Hill was the chair of the tribe from 1990-93, and in 2008. He signed the Oneida Nation’s first gambling contract with the state.
Hill also spent time as the chair of the National Indian Gaming Association.
He was said to be looking into a movie deal to tell the story of Jim Thorpe, the Native American athlete.
