It’s been a year without a fatal drunk driving crash in Brown County but sheriff’s officials say drugged driving is also a problem.
Captain Dan Sandberg says most of the drug-related crashes involve marijuana but he also sees crashes involving prescription drugs and cocaine.
He says a study shows alcohol and drugs are often used together.
In Brown County there were 41 drug-related crashes in 2019.
That’s down from 51 the year before.
In Northeast Wisconsin counties 187 people were injured and nine died in drug-related cases.
