A retired marine wants to help other veterans dealing with mental health issues.
Tristan Retzlaff will be leaving Oshkosh soon for a trip to the Appalachian Trial that runs from Georgia to Maine with his service dog Zoey.
The 2,000 mile trek isn’t just a hike, but it’s a charity.
He calls it Jarhead’s Journey.
He says on average 22 veterans commit suicide each day.
Retzlaff is looking for donations to help him make the trip.
He says his goal is to raise money for Healing4Heroes.
The non-profit connects veterans like him to dogs like Zoey.
