Ingrid Andress is still pinching herself after yesterday's (Thursday, Feb. 27th) news that she is nominated for New Female Artist of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards. She shared her excitement on social media writing, “Wow. This is insanity. There’s nothing quite like finding out you’re nominated for the first time in your life in an Uber otw to the airport. Luckily my driver politely pretended to be excited for me because I was FREAKING OUT!! What an honor to be nominated with a bunch of other badass females who imho all deserve this award. Thank you @acmawards and thank you country music.”
Ingrid is shooting straight towards the top of the country charts with her debut single, “More Hearts Than Mine.” She recently earned a coveted slot on the New Faces show during Country Radio Seminar, which was held last week, and she has been tapped for two huge upcoming tours with Dan + Shay and Tim McGraw.
There's a lot going on all at once for Ingrid, who tells us EXCLUSIVELY that she is still trying to wrap her mind around all her success. “I am still absorbing it. I feel like its been such a whirlwind, but I've been ready for it my whole life pretty much, so I think spending a lot of time just in the craft of writing songs and getting the music right is so important and so to me I think I'm just excited for people to hear everything I've been working on cause that's what is important to me is like if the music is top notch or not.”
Ingrid's debut album, Lady Like, will be released on March 27th.
The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5th on CBS.
