BTS held their live streaming concert BANG BANG CON The Live Monday – and it marked the biggest global audience for a paid virtual concert.
The show was attended by 756,600 fans across 107 regions. That equates to about 15 shows at a 50,000-capacity stadium. The group performed in various spaces made up of five rooms and two stages, each stylized to represent different moods.
During the 100-minute 12-song set, they performed songs “DOPE,” “Boyz with Fun,” “Like,” “Just One Day,” “Jamais Vu,” “Respect,” “Friends,” “Black Swan,” “Boy with Luv (Feat. Halsey),” “Go Go,” “Anpanman,” and “Spring Day.” The show also featured multi-view streaming, meaning fans were able to choose their favorite angle from six screens playing simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics has unveiled a special edition of its flagship Galaxy S20 smartphone, which targets global fans of BTS. The Seoul-based company said pre-order purchases of the BTS-themed model, the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition, will start late this month with the official launch date set for July 9th, which marks the seventh anniversary of the BTS fan collective.
Samsung said the BTS phone will feature a purple glass and metal exterior, while carrying the group’s logo and purple heart iconography. The device will include BTS-inspired Android themes, along with a pre-installed copy of the Weverse mobile application, a social media platform used by BTS members to communicate with their fans. It will also come with decorative stickers and photo cards of the band members.
Along with the special-edition smartphone, Samsung also disclosed its matching set of the Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition, the wireless earbuds comparable to Apple’s AirPods.
