TAYLOR SWIFT RELEASES LYRIC VIDEO FOR ‘FOLKLORE’ BONUS TRACK, ‘THE LAKES’: Taylor Swift has released a lyric video for the Folklore bonus track “The Lakes.” The clip features footage of a grassy field with flowers as the lyrics appear onscreen. The song, produced by frequent Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff, was previously only available on physical copies of Folklore. “The Lakes” is now available on music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube, Pandora, Tidal, Soundcloud and Deezer.
ARIANA GRANDE & LADY GAGA TO PERFORM ‘RAIN ON ME’ FOR THE FIRST TIME AT MTV VMAS: The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards has revealed that Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga will unite for the first time live to perform “Rain On Me” at the awards ceremony on August 28th. The two superstars are also the most nominated acts of the evening.
CARLY RAE JEPSEN RELEASES ‘ME & THE BOYS IN THE BAND’ VIDEO: Carly Rae Jepsen has released a new song and video. “Me & the Boys In the Band” connects Jepsen with her bandmates, all playing their parts separately while social distancing. Jepsen called the song “a from home ‘pick me up’ song from all of us to you.'” Jepsen filmed herself singing the song in her backyard and in her bathtub, obscured by bubbles. Her band members played their instruments from their own homes. The video also included photo montages of previous in person gigs they’d played together, including an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Jepsen will host the karaoke party on August 27th at 6 p.m. EDT on YouTube.
BTS’S J-HOPE DONATES $84,416 FOR CHILDREN IN NEED AMID PANDEMIC: BTS member J-hope donated $84,416 for children suffering economic hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic, a charity group said. According to ChildFund Korea, J-hope expressed hope that his donation will be delivered to children in crisis, especially to those who are experiencing economic difficulties amid the pandemic. J-hope has contributed about $380,000 through the charity since 2018 as a member of Green Noble Club, a group of high-value donors of ChildFund Korea. He donated about $127,000 in 2018 to the charity to support children with illnesses and foster talent. In 2019, he donated about $84,000 to low-income students at his old high school in Gwangju, south of Seoul, and another$84,000 to children with illnesses.
