So much drama.
Here’s the deal. A few months ago, Slipknot/ Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor said in an interview with Cutter and Kaytie from our sister station, Razor 94.7 | 104.7 that he was frustrated with the music industry.
“The [young artists] that really frustrate me are the ones that they take something that’s been around forever and then just basically rework it and call it new — even though it’s completely derivative. You know the band they’re ripping off — they’re not even trying to rip off a bunch of bands; they’re ripping off one band. But the younger generation picks them up and says, ‘This is our blah blah blah,’ because they’re tired of old people telling them that the music that came before them was better. And I don’t know who’s right, but I know both are wrong because we should be encouraging everything.”
At no point in time in the interview did he specifically name MGK, but a lot of people inferred that that is who Taylor was talking about.
Fast-forward to this past weekend where MGK and Slipknot were simultaneously playing sets on different stages at Riot Fest in Chicago. During MGK’s set, he bashed Slipknot saying:
“Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old wearing a fucking weird mask on a fucking stage, talking shit. So anyway, what’s everyone’s favorite candy? Reese’s Pieces?”
After that video was picked up by multiple music news sources, MGK sent out a few tweets.
very odd that when an artist talks shit,

and i respond, i’m the bad guy.
corey did a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album, it was fucking terrible, so i didn’t use it.

he got mad about it, and talked shit to a magazine about the same album he was almost on.
yalls stories are all off.
just admit he’s bitter.
From there, Corey Taylor responded on Twitter with screenshots of emails from MGK that reveal that Taylor was the one who decided not to work with MGK.
“I don’t like people airing private shit like a child. So this is all I’ll say: I didn’t do the track because I don’t like when people try to ‘write’ for me. I said NO to THEM. So without further ado…. #receipts
This is all I’m going to say about it.”

Machine Gun Kelly has since responded via Twitter.
basically, your verse was really bad.

respectfully, i was just telling you to rewrite it because it was really bad.
respectfully.
but let’s do a britney spears song cover together
We’re not really sure what will happen from here but after MGK’s beef with Eminem a few months back, we’re hoping for an Eminem/ Corey Taylor collaboration.
