Three members of the Appleton Common Council would no longer live in the districts they currently represent under the redistricting map approved by a city committee last week.
Alder Kristin Alfheim would go from District 11 to District 9, where Alex Schultz is the incumbent. Alder Vered Melzer would be out of what is currently District 2 and into District 4, where incumbent Joe Martin has already announced that he is not running for re-election. Alder Joe Prohaska would go from District 14 into District 1, where William Siebers is the incumbent.
Those currently on the Common Council will get to stay until their current term expires. However, the Redistricting Committee will meet again this afternoon in special session to consider two more potential maps. A final selection must go before the Appleton Common Council on Wednesday.
