This weekend is a reminder to get rid of unwanted, unneeded or expired medication.
Saturday is the annual Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Appleton Police use to have a 24/7 drop box in the lobby. Lieutenant Meghan Cash says they got rid of it because it was too labor intensive for the amount of use.
The event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. but local law enforcement agencies have their set own hours. The Neenah, Menasha, Hortonville and Oshkosh departments provide 24/7 drop box service. Many other departments like Kaukauna, and Wrightstown offer drop box access most days of the week.
