Appleton Police are mourning the death of retired K9 Jico .
A message from the department says he died peacefully, in his sleep on Friday. He lived with his handler Sargent Jeremy Haney and his family. Jico served from 2013 until 2019. During his time, the dog was deployed 1,126 times leading to 533 arrests. He netted 30 pounds of marijuana, 11.19 grams of heroin, more than two pounds of meth and $191,603 in cash.
