Damage to a home on Appleton’s southeast side is estimated at $60,000 after a fire last night.
Crews were called to the 1000 block of South Weimar Street around 11:30 p.m. They found smoke and flames coming from the building. The American Red Cross is helping the two adults, two children and one pet displaced.
Officials think ashes from a fire pit put in a plastic garbage can near the house started the fire.
