A new trial date is set in a civil lawsuit between Walmart and the city of Neenah. A trial initially set for next March has been pushed back to August 22nd. The retailer is suing the city to lower its property tax assessments–and to get refunds on previous payments. Walmart is looking to take advantage of the so-called “dark store loophole” which sees an operating store assessed at the same value as a big box building that is sitting vacant.
