Green Bay Schools will reopen as scheduled January 3. But when students return to in-person classes, security precautions will be in place around the district.
That follows a number of social media threats that forced the district to go to virtual instruction the last week before Christmas break. Superintendent Stephen Murley says they’re talking about limiting the availability of backpacks during the school day and reducing the number of entry points at secondary schools so staff can keep a better eye on kids as they come into the building.
Murley also says the district will be discussing responsible use of social media with students and parents.
