Lawrence University students will be able to get around the Fox Cities free of charge under a new partnership with Valley Transit. Since Monday, Lawrence students can swipe their student identification cards on buses and get anywhere they need to go. Valley Transit General Manager Ron McDonald says the partnership follows a survey by the Center for Community Engagement and Social Change at Lawrence University. McDonald says it shows there is a need for transit options for students.
Lawrence University will repay student fares to Valley Transit. This marks the first time the transit system and the university have had such a partnership.
