U-W Oshkosh is praising Interim U-W System President Tommy Thompson for his leadership. That follows Thompson’s announcement that he’ll step down from his post in March. In a written statement, U-W Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt calls Thompson “a tremendous leader for the University of Wisconsin System, advocating for change and innovation at every turn during his tenure as interim president.” Leavitt went on to say “(Thompson’s) leadership guided our COVID-19 efforts, giving our University the tools and support the needed to attack the virus first through testing and then through vaccinations.” Thompson previously served as Wisconsin governor and then as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the George W. Bush administration.
