Wisconsin National Guard members are being deployed to nursing homes statewide to reinforce health care workers battling the coronavirus. About 50 Wisconsin National Guard members are being sent to six nursing homes this week. Governor Tony Evers announced that effort today, which also includes training programs for other guard members.
Governor Tony Evers also says it’s hoped that assistance from National Guard members help with patient capacity challenges.
It’s hoped that will free up 200 more hospital beds statewide by the end of February.
