The Heart of the Valley Sewerage District will move ahead with a plan to install a liner inside the concrete interceptor pipe that carries sewerage to the district’s treatment plant.
District Director Brian Helminger says the most recent video inspection of the pipe system found extensive surface corrosion. He says the pipe is in sound condition and sized according to needs of the long term future.
The 5.5 mile system along the Fox River was originally installed in 1977 and serves Kaukauna, Kimberly, Little Chute, Combined Locks and Darboy.
Helminger hopes the project goes out for bid later this year. Work could begin in spring of 2023.
