Unattended cooking is being blamed for a fire in Oshkosh that killed two cats and left seven people without a place to live.
Fire crews were called to a duplex in the 1000 block of Greenwood Court around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Crews found heavy fire in the kitchen and dining room. The home has extensive damage. Officials say the building did not have working smoke alarms.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries because of icy conditions.
