Appleton Police credit an employee at a local credit union for preventing an elderly customer from becoming the victim of a scam.
The woman came to the credit union looking to transfer a very large amount of cash to a suspicious bank account earlier this month.
Police were called in and determined that the request for cash was a scam–and that the perpetrators had already been able to transfer some money out of the victim’s accounts.
