A Denmark man is among the first in the state to be charged under a new law meant to protect health care workers from threats.
Larry Born is facing counts of Threat of Bodily Harm to a Health Care Worker, Terrorist Threats, and Using a Computer to Make a Threat.
According to the criminal complaint, Born became confrontational with security workers at Aurora BayCare Medical Center last Wednesday, complaining about the treatment his wife received in the maternity ward. Born allegedly posted pictures from inside restricted areas of the building and threatened to buy a gun. A few days later those were followed by social media posts threatening to blow up the hospital.
He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.
