TOWN OF LAWRENCE, Wis. — What started with Hobart/Lawrence police officers finding a man asleep in a vehicle by a convenience store’s gas pump ends as that department’s largest ever drug bust.
Officers were notified March 29 of a suspicious person and vehicle near the Freedom Road Kwik Trip’s fuel pumps. The caller said the vehicle had been parked there for over an hour.
The responding officers found a man asleep in the driver’s seat with some drug paraphernalia nearby.
A further search of the vehicle uncovered meth, cocaine, fentanyl, LSD, marijuana, heroin, prescription drugs and designer pills. Officers also seized nearly $50,000 cash and four guns.
The suspect, an unidentified white man, was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail.
