SHAWANO, Wis–A Shawano County campground owner accused of leading police on a chase says she is “not guilty”. Ann Retzlaff enters the plea to charges of Fleeing an Officer and Reckless Endangerment.
Retzlaff has claimed to be a “sovereign citizen” and therefore was not required to stop for sheriff’s deputies that tried to stop her for speeding and reckless driving back in May of last year. No trial date has been set.
In a separate hearing, a judge also ordered Retzlaff’s business–Annie’s Campground–into receivership for failure to repay bank loans. The facility will now be sold–with a hearing on that scheduled for July 11th.
