And believe it or not, it gets better. On top of earning $50,000 a year in one of the world’s happiest countries, you’ll also take advantage of Iceland’s new 4-day workweek policy!
Yogurt company Siggi’s will hire one person to be their social media content creator. You’ll be documenting all your experiences in Iceland, such as dining, hiking, exploring, immersing yourself in the culture, and everything in between.
Here’s what they’re looking for: someone with a passport, solid writing skills, a passion for photography, and the desire to live the simple life. BUT… how far does $50,000 get you in Iceland? Well, I tried to break it down.
According to Teleport.org, the average salary for a content creator in Iceland is $54,812, so you’ll be making less than that. Now don’t forget about taxes. Iceland has a very high tax rate and will take out, on average, 46% of your income.
But there is a lot of upside to Iceland! Like free health care! In Iceland, you don’t even need to bother with stupid annoying health insurance companies, because there are none. Universal health care is enshrined in law in Iceland, so everyone gets it. There’s also free college for everyone, everyone speaks English, the air quality is fantastic, the outdoors and scenery are phenomenal, and an extremely low crime rate. Cops don’t have guns, and even the President of Iceland walks around without an armed security! Bold move, Cotton, let’s see if it pays off. Oh, and here’s another amazing perk:
THERE ARE NO MOSQUITOS. There are also no bears, snakes, poisonous spiders, or any other harmful animals. (!!!)
I originally just intended on writing a quick piece about this job, but after a little bit of research, I seriously got myself wanting to up and move to Iceland. 🤣
No, seriously. 😐
If you wanna shoot your shot at this cool opportunity, apply here. But don’t even think about it, because it’s mine.
